What happens before you interact

The application’s landing page and guides do not create an account/session, load advertising or analytics pixels, embed social-media trackers, or save a new draft. Necessary hosting/security checks can occur before the page loads. Plain links to Product Hunt or social sites do not embed those services; their own policies apply if you choose to visit them.

Name / technologyWhen and whyDuration / control
yno_session · first-party, HttpOnly, Secure on HTTPS, SameSite=LaxStarts when you request a workspace, vote, report or privacy action; maintains the security token and an authenticated workspace. Not used for advertising.Browser session; server inactivity limit two hours. Lock workspace or clear application cookies in Privacy controls.
yno_voter · first-party, HttpOnly, Secure on HTTPS, SameSite=LaxSet on a submitted vote to limit repeat votes and let you manage the linked responses. The server keeps a keyed hash, not the raw cookie value.30 days after issue/renewal. Older beta cookies were initially one year; the new release shortens a received legacy cookie. Delete linked votes before clearing it if you want the records removed.
yno-draft-v2 · local storageOnly after you explicitly enable “Save my draft”. Stores question/description/price/theme on your own device. No server copy until you publish.14-day expiry checked on builder use. Turn save off, use Remove saved draft, or Privacy controls. The old automatic yno-draft entry is removed on builder/clear action.
Hostinger/infrastructure security technologyMay be used to protect delivery, detect abuse or perform browser/security checks. Controlled by the hosting provider, not an advertising integration added by YesOrNo.Provider-specific. Clear through browser settings and see Hostinger’s policies. Application controls cannot promise to erase provider cookies.

Do I need to accept a banner?

We have disabled optional advertising, visitor analytics and social embeds rather than asking for blanket consent. Necessary storage is limited to functions you request; optional draft storage has its own off-by-default control. No “accept all” action is needed to read the site. If optional trackers are introduced, they must stay blocked until a valid choice, with an equally accessible refusal and withdrawal route where consent is required.

Your controls

Open Privacy controls. You can also block or clear storage in your browser. Blocking essential cookies prevents voting, workspace authentication and some security-protected actions. Deleting cookies does not automatically delete server records or stop essential hosting logs. Shared or downloaded question images contain the public question and link, not a hidden tracking pixel.

Current release: the privacy panel now offers “Essential only” or consent to first-party aggregate product analytics. Analytics remain off until a choice is made, and the choice can be withdrawn by clearing this site’s local storage or using Privacy controls.
